Te Anau
The main centre of Fiordland is Te Anau, a pretty lakeside town and gateway to the Milford and Doubtful Sounds.  With tourist accommodation and all the important amenities, Te Anau is a great base to begin your explorations of the sounds.

Milford Sound & Doubtful Sound
Milford Sound promises unrelenting rainforest and the stunning Mitre Peak – popular with photographers and always picture perfect.

Characterised by its unrelenting rain (on average 6 metres a year), the mystical Lake Manapouri captivates with its morose green tones and thickly forested surrounds.

Doubtful Sound, the serene sister to Milford Sound, is a deep fiord teeming with wildlife – from bottlenose and dusky dolphins, to New Zealand fur seals and Fiordland Crested penguins.
