Kaikoura Local Information

Kaikoura, meaning “meal of crayfish”, forms part of the Alpine Pacific Triangle.  Marine activities are the backbone of this seaside town. Whale watching, dolphin and albatross encounter, seal swimming, surfing and sea fishing. 

Walking tracks, sky diving, vineyards, horse treks, hiking, scenic flights and Maori cultural tours and an interesting Art Trail are also available. 

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and snow-capped mountain ranges, Kaikoura is scenically breathtaking.
